Basic Diving Course 2018

Central Cadet Officers,

 The NCC Basic Diving Course 2018 is a 2-week full time residential course specially designed and tailored for NCC Teacher Officers, Cadet Officers, Cadets as well as Associate Members as part of the RSN-NCC Affiliation scheme.

 The course will commence  on 28th May 2018 and ends on 8th June 2018.

 Do note that in order to secure a place into the course, certain critierias have to be met.

  1. Physical Fitness Selections
  2. Medical Check Up
  3. Swimming and Water Confidence Selections
  4. Diver Fitness Test

  • Physical Fitness Selections
Candidates must achieve the following requirements in PT shirt, No. 4 pants and PT Shoes:
  1.  Complete as many counts of Push Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 50 counts) 
  2.  Rest for 2 minutes 
  3.  Complete as many counts of Sit Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 50 counts)
  4.  Rest for 2 minutes 
  5.  Complete as many counts of Chin Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 6 counts)
  6.  Rest for 10 minutes 
  7.  Complete 2.4 km Run in less than 14:00 minutes

  • Medical Check Up
Candidates who have passed the Physical Fitness Selections will be scheduled for the Medical Check-up at Central Manpower Base. Please take note that there will be a blood test and all candidates are expected to fast for 10 hours before the blood test.


  • Swimming and Water Confidence Selections
Candidates must achieve the following requirements:
  1. Complete a 3 metre tower/confidence jump into the swimming pool 
  2. Swim 500 metres in Breast Stroke ONLY within 14 minutes.

  • Diver Fitness Test
Candidates must achieve the following requirements:
  1. Complete a 3 metre tower/confidence jump into the swimming pool 
  2. Swim 500 metres in Breast Stroke ONLY within 14 minutes.
  3. Rest 10 minutes (change to PT shirt, No. 4 pants and PT shoes)
  4. Complete as many counts of Push Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 50 counts)
  5. Rest for 2 minutes
  6. Complete as many counts of Sit Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 50 counts) 
  7. Rest for 2 minutes
  8. Complete as many counts of Chin Ups within 2 minutes (minimum 6 counts) 
  9. Rest for 10 minutes
  10. Complete 2.4 km Run in less than 14:00 minutes

Those who are interested, please sign up via the Google Form by 26th March 2018, 1500hours and fill up the Application Form given in the link down below and submit it via hardcopy during the Physical Fitness Selections held at NCC HQ to HQ NCC (Sea) CSO MR LIONEL LEE latest by 29th March 2018, 1700hours.

Please note that late submission or incomplete application forms will not be accepted.
